Rachel & Jeff: Engagement Session

Rachel and Jeff are the outcome of a referral from a lovely couple (Ashleigh and Chris) I photographed last year.  Like them this couple is young, adorable and of course in love.  Below are some of my favorite shots of them.   There are quite a bit but I had so many favorites! The photoshoot location was up to them so they chose where they met, Edwardsville, IL.  We explored the campus they met on at SIUE and went to an old movie theatre in downtown Edwardsville.

I love the clarity in her eyes on this one. Sharp eyes will make me fall in love with
any picture.

The one above is hands down my favorite. This picture came straight out of the
camera very smooth and clear. Absolutely love it!

In case you are wondering these photographs were shot at the old movie theatre in downtown Edwardsville. They both looove movies so thought this vintage theatre
would suit them.
Another fun fact to know is that I suggested they bring any fun
props they may want to use. So they found this beautiful 1940's photograph that
inspired their outfits and poses. I was so excited because ideas like this make the
photograph so much more interesting!! I encourage every client to do things like
this. Don't be afraid to step out of the box a bit and accessorize and wear clothes that are an expression of you. If you are looking for inspiration look at a
Jcrew or Gap ad! You will find great inspiration and ideas there.

This booth they are in is the actual booth that was used back in the day the movie
theatre used to disperse movie tickets!

I love the picture above because I don't think they knew I was photographing them and in return I got a very genuine pose....or maybe they are just that good!

The colors in the one above and below have put these pics in my favorites.

I have to admit I am pleasantly suprised with the one above. The sun was really
bright and I didn't like the cars behind them but besides the cars in the background, I like it!

Photobucket

To escape the high sunlight (which I haaaate photographing in) we found the side
of a building with beautiful vines w/ slight shade.

Jeff isn't crying here, he just can't see because of the sun:)

Look at those beauuuutiful blue eyes!

A collage of yet, more of my favorites.

As you can see above there were a lot of laughs in between the corny poses I make them do so I can get these moments!

As I mentioned above we explored the campus of SIUE (where they met). This
building they are leaning against is actually the engineering building where Jeff
spent most of his time.

And last but not least, this area was the area Rachel and Jeff hung out in between
classes with their friends so we had to take some shots there!!!

Garrett, Ava & Emmett Continued | Old Town Wentzville

Lately I have been on a mission to capture some great shots of my niece and nephews.  Within the past 2 years of shooting other families, I never am lucky enough to con them into a photo shoot.  They are hands down, the most resistant subjects.  Even though Garrett was being grouchy in this picture below, embarrassed because people were staring at him...I happen to love it!

Grouchy here too, but still like it!

Finally some smiles...

Poor Emmett is too young to know he has his whole life to look forward to many,
many more photo shoots.

I have to admit, Ava is actually not so bad, she loooooves to pose.
